Glacier National Park is an idyllic stretch of over one million acres on the northern edge of Montana, with 200 waterfalls, more than 700 lakes, and many stark mountains carved by glaciers.  When European settlers first saw the area, over 150 glaciers remained.  They quickly established a forest preserve on this region that had been home, hunting ground and site of vision quests for Native American tribes.  Just 21 years after Montana became a state, President Taft created Glacier National Park in 1910 …
